Thuasne is one of France's most established medical device manufacturers, producing a wide range of orthopedic and compression solutions for patients and healthcare professionals worldwide. Despite their strong market position and international footprint, their digital presence had grown into a fragmented ecosystem of 17 country-specific websites, each carrying its own visual language and inconsistencies. As part of a full digital overhaul, I was brought in to design a comprehensive Design System and contribute to the creation of a unified global platform that would consolidate all 17 sites into a single, coherent digital experience.

The primary objective was to establish a single source of truth for Thuasne's entire digital ecosystem. Every market, every language, every platform had to speak the same visual and functional language, while remaining flexible enough to accommodate the specific needs of different regions and product lines. Beyond consistency, the new platform needed to strike a careful balance between medical authority and human warmth, projecting the credibility expected from a healthcare brand while remaining genuinely accessible and reassuring to patients navigating health challenges.

The work began with the construction of a robust, scalable Design System built entirely within Figma. From color tokens and typography scales to search components, navigation patterns, product cards, and form elements, every piece of the system was designed to be modular, reusable, and immediately actionable across teams and markets. Particular attention was given to component states, accessibility standards, and responsive behavior, ensuring that the system could serve both developers and designers with equal reliability. In parallel, I contributed to the UI design of the global website itself, translating the Design System into a full product experience. The visual direction combined bold blues and clean white layouts with warm, human photography, creating a platform that feels simultaneously medically authoritative and deeply personal. The intelligent search feature, placed prominently in the hero, was designed to act as the primary gateway for patients looking for solutions by symptom, condition, or product reference.

The project successfully unified 17 separate digital identities into a single, internationally scalable platform, establishing Thuasne as a coherent and modern global brand across every market. The Design System ensured that future updates, new market rollouts, and product launches could be executed with speed and consistency, dramatically reducing design and development overhead. Most importantly, the new platform created a patient experience that feels trustworthy, clear, and human at every touchpoint, reflecting the genuine care that sits at the heart of Thuasne's mission.
